To better portray the powerful battles that this new character will face in the film, actress Sasha Salazar underwent rigorous and difficult training before filming began. Her unwavering determination and dedication even impressed stunt doubles on set, who exclaimed,"You don't need a double." Producers Barbara Muschietti and director Andy Muschietti praised her saying,"She is very determined and trains very hard but also seems to enjoy it."
